In Septmeber 2007 I left Berkeley to teach English for a year in Vilcabamba, Ecuador. Placed through an international teaching program based in Cambridge, MA, I am teaching night classes at a small community school for a town whose economy is rapidly shifting from agriculture to tourism. I'm using this Vox blog to stay in touch with folks, but also to record my own ramblings.
